Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Sciences of Sorbonne University and Honorary Member of the Institut Universitaire de France, Jean-Gabriel Ganascia continues his research at LIP6 (Laboratory of Computer Science at Sorbonne University) where he leads the ACASA team (Cognitive Agents and Symbolic Machine Learning). A specialist in artificial intelligence (EurAI Fellow), machine learning, and data mining, his current research focuses on the literary aspect of digital humanities, computational ethics, and the ethics of information and communication technologies. In the past, he was a member (2011-2016) and then president (2017-2021) of COMETS (Ethics Committee of the CNRS). He is currently a member of CNPEN (National Pilot Committee for Digital Ethics), president of the steering committee of CHEC (Cycle of Advanced Studies in Culture), president of the ethics committee of Pôle-Emploi, and president of AFAS (French Association for the Advancement of Sciences). In addition to his scientific articles, Jean-Gabriel Ganascia is also the author of several books aimed at the general public, including his latest work, "Virtual Servitudes," published by Editions du Seuil in 2022, which received the FIC Book Prize.
