AI for Society

Romain Forestier is the Tech & Scientific Research Director at JEDI, the Joint European Disruptive Initiative. He is in charge of overseeing the various Moonshot Councils within JEDI, aiming at identifying the Next Big Thing on topics such as nuclear fusion, AI accelerators, or synthetic biology. Having developed multiple partnerships between JEDI and startups, corporates, labs & public institutions, he is currently coordinating the launch of the JEDI Cannes GrandChallenge, the next scientific competition of JEDI which shall focus on the ocean microbiome and the development of new drugs. An FT Talent Alumni and a former EIB Summer School student, Romain got his Bachelor in Social Sciences from Sciences Po, Paris (with academic partnerships with Northwestern University, and with University of St. Gallen), before his Dual Master’s Degree between Sciences Po and Bocconi University.
