About
LES ALPES-MARITIMES, TERRE D'INTELLIGENCE ARTIFICIELLE
The Alpes-Maritimes Pavilion, “Terre d’IA”, is the international showcase of the technological, entrepreneurial and scientific expertise of the Alpes-Maritimes territory. It embodies the SMART Deal philosophy led by the Departmental Council: innovation serving the common good, digital sovereignty, and the modernization of public services.
The Maison de l'Intelligence Artificielle (MIA) was created by the Department to bring this vision to life. Operationally led by the MIA, the Pavilion reflects its core mission: to raise awareness, bring stakeholders together and make artificial intelligence accessible to all audiences — from the general public and students to businesses and local authorities. As an emblematic venue and a territorial coordination platform, the MIA connects research, startups, institutions and decision-makers to position the Alpes-Maritimes as a true “Land of AI".
Objectives and Ambitions
The ambition is clear: to position the Alpes-Maritimes as a European hub for applied artificial intelligence, where breakthrough innovation, responsible technologies and concrete use cases converge in service of the territory. Through this Pavilion, the Alpes-Maritimes do not merely undergo the AI revolution — they build it, support it, explain it and master it, notably through the structuring role played by the House of Artificial Intelligence (MIA) in awareness-building, mediation and education.
The Pavilion also serves as a powerful economic accelerator. It connects startups from the Alpes-Maritimes with international investors, strengthens the visibility of the local ecosystem, and opens up new opportunities for employment, partnerships and growth.
Pavilion Partners: Département 06, MIA, SICTIAM, CASA, CCI, French Tech, Université Côte d’Azur.
“Terre d’IA” Award
This year, 28 startups from the Alpes-Maritimes were selected from 36 applications, nearly half of which are new compared to the 2025 edition, highlighting the vitality and ongoing renewal of the local innovation ecosystem. The selected companies reflect the diversity of artificial intelligence use cases across the territory, including healthcare, security, environment, tourism, data management, generative AI, edge computing and biotechnology.
The selection is based on stringent criteria — technological maturity, market potential, user value and visual impact — to ensure a high level of quality and relevance. It showcases robust solutions that are representative of the “Terre d’IA” dynamic.
The “Terre d’IA” Award honors each year the most promising solution from the territory, recognizing projects that combine technological excellence, societal impact, and the ambition to develop useful, responsible and sovereign AI.
Maison de l’Intelligence Artificielle :
Created by the Alpes-Maritimes Department as part of its SMART Deal policy initiatives, in partnership with the Sophia Antipolis Urban Community, the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Université Côte d’Azur, the Maison de l'Intelligence Artificielle (MIA) is a first of its kind in France and Europe.
Located at the heart of Sophia Antipolis, the MIA is a physical venue dedicated entirely to Artificial Intelligence (AI), its applications, uses, and challenges, serving all audiences — students, the general public, and professionals. It develops scientific mediation resources and tools, and conducts awareness-raising activities both on-site and off-site for those wishing to discover AI, engage with experts through workshops, and explore educational demonstrators.
Since its creation, the MIA has reached over 100,000 people, with the support of the entire local AI ecosystem. This initiative reflects the commitment of President Charles Ange GINESY to establish the Alpes-Maritimes as a “Land of AI.”
The MIA offers free activities to all audiences, both on its premises and throughout the Alpes-Maritimes territory.
The MIA team will be present throughout the entire exhibition to guide you and answer all your questions!
